A Zionist Apology to the Palestinian People

We, members and supporters of the New Zionist Movement, offer our sincere apology for the immense suffering of the Nakba, a catastrophe you endured during the creation of Israel. We acknowledge and atone for the part our forebearers played in this historic injustice. You were driven from your homes and have since faced occupation, oppression, and the denial of your identity.

Our predecessors - reeling from the Holocaust and desperate for a safe haven in our ancient homeland - regrettably triggered a profound calamity for the Arabs of Palestine, both intentionally and unintentionally. For too long, we, their descendants, have denied this painful truth. We turned away from our own core value of justice and ignored the command to love our neighbor. We hardened our hearts to your pain.

Now, as a vital first step toward making amends, we offer this apology for the wrongs that have been done and continue to be done. We are committed to a new beginning by recognizing the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian People for self-determination and freedom. We truly hope this act of atonement can begin a much-needed healing process for all.

Let us find our shared humanity and work together to build an agreement where Israelis and Palestinians—Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Druze—can live together in peace, safety, and prosperity.

This Apology is accompanied by an Amends in the form of a 2-State Plan.
